Tips for Class
The instructor is on the deck to guide your movements but it is up to you to do the work. The effort you put into the class is what you get out of it. Above all, go at your own pace, whether it be slower or faster than what I demonstrate on deck.
Be mindful of your limitations. The instructor will try to show modifications, however the general rule is if it hurts don’t do it. We all have limitations of one sort or another, so listen to your body and heed its signals.
Meet our Instructor
Maureen Hebl began practicing yoga in 1998 and became a certified yoga teacher in 2010. She is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level and completed training with Scott Anderson in the Alignment Yoga Program at Mound Street Yoga Center, Madison, Wisconsin. In addition, she’s received a UW-Madison funding to study with YES+ (Yoga Empowerment + Service), an innovative leadership training program.
Before teacher training in Madison, Maureen taught and lived in Thailand for four years where she studied Thai massage and Tai Chi, as well as participated in workshops with Desiree Rambaugh in Anusara Yoga and Dylan Bernstein in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
Today she is inspired by the teachings of Scott Anderson, Sean Corne, and Michael Stone. Off the mat, she loves to teach Stand-Up Paddle Board Yoga, travel and explore the world, along with teaching English as a Second Language to children and volunteering her time to those in need of help to create a violence- and stress-free world.
