How can I subpoena witnesses?
You may obtain subpoenas from the clerk of Municipal Court. You will have to personally serve the subpoenas on the witnesses. Allow at least two weeks before the trial to obtain and serve the subpoenas. There is no charge for obtaining subpoenas, but if you lose at trial you may be required to pay witness fees of $5 per witness plus their mileage at the current IRS mileage rate. The court clerk may be reached at 608-222-0463.
