Green Tuesdays Films & Lectures: Monona’s Water: Cleaner, Safer, Better

Date: Tue - 01/31/2012
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Monona Public Library, 1000 Nichols Rd., Community Media Room

Groups that have chosen to take on water conservation and management projects during the Year of Water will share their plans, ask questions of experts, and get more ideas and help from community members about how to implement their good deeds for Monona. This fall/winter recruitment effort of The Natural Step Monona and the UW Nelson Institute Capstone Class was designed to expand the number of water improvement projects like ripples on a pond—outward to more and more groups.

What can your group do? What can you do as an individual to help a group execute its plans? Installing water bottle-filling water fountains or rain gardens, redesigning parking lots, stenciling storm-drains...Progress for Monona begins with a commitment and a plan. What do you plan to do?

At Green Tuesdays & Thursdays you can enjoy free films, presentations, and conversations about making our world better together. Open to the public in eight locations. Monona's Green Tuesdays are on the second and fifth Tuesdays of the month, from late summer through late spring. Whole Foods Market serves treats at Monona's Green Tuesdays, so come early and stay late for delightful food and drink.  See the complete calendar here: http://www.tnsmonona.org/green-tuesdays-green-thursdays/.

Green Tuesdays & Thursdays is sponsored by The Natural Step Monona in collaboration with Oregon Working to Live Sustainably (OWLS), Mount Horeb Area Sustainability Network, RGPL Green Tuesdays (Cross Plains), the City of Middleton Sustainability Committee, Edgewood College, Sustainable Atwood, Madison College (MATC), and the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies.
The program is supported by the Madison Gas & Electric Foundation, the Dane County Environmental Council, and Richard and Judy Fritz. Whole Foods Market also supports Monona’s Green Tuesdays with in-kind donations of refreshments.
